Help! I am getting married this summer and want my skin to look amazing but I suffer from dark circles and blotchy skin which tends to breakout into spots when I'm stressed. What do you recommend to ensure my skin looks its best? Lauren

Sarah says...

Lauren, it's great that you're already thinking ahead so you have lots of time to get your skin looking radiant in time for your big day. For your dark circles I recommend using Bliss Triple Oxygen Energising Eye Masks x 4, Clinique All About Eyes All Skin Types, Givenchy Sparkling Eye Rejuvenating Gel, Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream. Use twice daily to improve the appearance and even out the skin tone. There are many skin saving solutions to help with blemishes. Firstly, make sure your skincare regime includes cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising. This will help to clear your complexion and keep skin hydrated. To help prevent blemishes I recommend Biotherm Biopur Pore Reducer Cleansing Gel 125ml - Oily Skin, Fashion Fair Blemish control cleansing foam 163ml, Bliss Steep Clean Mattifying Toner Pads, Benefit Porefessional Pore Minimiser, Clinique Anti Blemish Foundation.

I also suggest you head down to your favourite Debenhams store and get booked in for a full skincare consultation. Clinique offers a brilliant & simple to follow 3 step skincare routine that you can fit into your daily schedule in no time, plus they tailor-make your routine to target all your concerns.

We also recommend taking time out to have a relaxing facial, our Clarins Skin Spas are available throughout the country and offer great value professional facials that will not only detox your skin but will help de-stress and relax you too.

Don't forget a great concealer is always handy to keep in your bag for touch ups or cover-ups. We love Benefit Erase Paste, Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat, bareMinerals Multi-tasking Minerals, Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer.

Can you recommend a foundation that gives a perfect finish and will last all day? Patricia

Sarah says...

Patricia, you're not alone. This is one of our most asked questions and not just by brides. First you need to think about the level of coverage you need and how this fits in with your current skincare routine; the best route to flawless skin is to complement your foundation to your skincare routine, a foundation fitting at one our beauty counters in store will help ensure you have the right shade and product for you. If you're looking for a natural foundation, you may want to give bareMinerals a try. It's full of minerals so your skin can breathe while it still gives you the coverage you want.

Our other bestsellers are Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup SPF 10, Diorskin Nude - Lancôme Teint Miracle, Clinique Even Better Makeup Spf15.

To help you create a flawless finish I also recommend using cover-ups to even out the skintone. The one?s I recommend are Benefit Erase Paste, Yves Saint Laurent Touche ?clat, bareMinerals Multi-tasking Minerals, Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer. For added radiance use a highlighter to enhance the contours of your face including cheekbones and temples. For this I recommend: Benefit High Beam, Guerlain Precious Light.

How do I easily change my make-up from day to night on my wedding day? Nadine

Sarah says...

Updating your look on your big day can be as simple as a sweep of eye shadow in two minutes, but it's really important to plan your look ahead of time. These are the some of the most important photos you will look at in years to come so it may not be the right time to try something radical. It's your day so feeling and looking like you is important.

Eye shadow is a great way to enhance your look quickly and bring out your natural eye colour. We have a number of great eye shadow palettes that feature both subtle and bolder shades that work together so you can use the paler shades during the ceremony and add in the bolder tones before the evening wedding party!

Another simple way to give yourself a quick update is to use a deeper lip shade to really make an impact for the evening. But the best thing is to have a few makeovers. Get someone (even if it's the in store consultant) to take your photo after the makeover - that way you can see how you look in print with your chosen makeup.

A simple technique to achieve long fabulous fluttering lashes is to try false eyelashes. Our collection of handmade lashes can be professionally applied in store by one of our beauty experts so that you create a look that is romantic or strikingly dazzling.

I love the sunkissed natural look and would like this for my wedding day. I'm worried about it looking too orange though. How do I achieve a radiant golden glow? Cassie

Sarah says...

I really like your choice of makeup look for your wedding. The natural radiant glow is so simple yet highly effective. There?s 2 ways you can achieve this look. You might want to go down the self-tan route. For this I recommend St Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse 240ml, Fake Bake Self Tanning Lotion, Xen Tan Transform luxe 236ml, Guerlain Terracotta Serum Tan Prolonging complex.

When using self-tan remember you want to enhance your skin's natural tones. For the perfect finishing touches accentuate the arms, legs, chest and shoulder with St Tropez Skin illuminator. Alternatively, if you don't feel confident about applying yourself just head in store and book a St Tropez tan.

Another great way to achieve a warm and radiant glow is with a bronzer. Dust the cheekbones, forehead, temples, bridge of the nose and chin for a beautiful sunkissed look. For this I recommend: Guerlain Terracotta bronzing powders, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Soft Shimmer Bronzer, Benefit Hoola, Givenchy Prisme Visage.

I'm in search of a romantic fragrance for my big day. I'd like a different fragrance so it will remind me of the day when I wear it in future, but I'm not sure where to start. Serena

Sarah says...

Serena you're right, our sense of smell is deeply linked with our memories so choosing the right fragrance to wear on your wedding day is key. Your perfume can complement your individual style, leave a lasting impression, and conjure up memories of your wedding day to last a lifetime.

We have lots of wedding inspired fragrances but do keep in mind the type of fragrance you usually like as you'll probably want something reminiscent. Also think about the time of year, if you are getting married abroad or in the summer you'll want a lighter scent as opposed to a winter wedding when deeper more intense fragrances are just the thing.

Once you find your perfect scent, treat yourself to the body products within the same range and 'layer' your fragrance to ensure your scent lasts all day long. Some firm favourites are Victor and Rolf Flowerbomb Eau De Parfum, Christian Dior J'adore - Eau de Parfum, Marc Jacobs Lola, Giorgio Armani Code.
