Debenhams are very proud to be involved with the Hockey GB hockey team, and recently we caught up with Olympian forward Simon Mantell to talk hockey, style and a busy summer of sport.

Simon took time out of his busy training schedule to have a chat about what it means to represent his country in a home Olympics and how important it is to look your best on and off the hockey field.

Besides winning gold, what are your hopes for the tournament?

Well first of all I hope to be playing, selection will take place in May. But once you are at an Olympics it is difficult to think about much else other than winning medals. Aside from the hockey I hope that Hockey GB will be able to celebrate a record medal haul, I think it would be great for the whole nation.

Who are the other countries to look out for?

Australia and Germany have proved to be the most consistent performers over the last 5 or 6 years. So we are keen to repeat our win over Germany in the European cup final 2009.

How did you first got involved in hockey?

My Father got both my brother and I into hockey from an early age, mainly because we spent quite a bit of time hitting a ball around on the side of the pitch when he was playing. I also played a lot of tennis growing up and had dreams of winning Wimbledon and emulating my childhood sporting hero, Stefan Edberg!

What did you think when you heard Debenhams were getting involved with the GB Olympic hockey team?

Its great to have Debenhams onboard and we are looking forward to looking smart at our official functions.

How important is it to look your best before and after the game?

I think before the game comfort is the key, everything needs to be geared towards performance, but after the game I think it is important to look and feel smart.

What are your top style tips?

Find a shirt and suit that fits properly.

What do you look for in a suit?

Well first of all I need to find some trousers that fit round the waist but aren't too tight around the thighs...it's often a problem for athletes to find trousers that fit, something to do with too many squats in the gym!

Away from hockey how would you describe your style?

Quite smart when appropriate, but because of training I spend most of my time in jogging bottoms and training kit!

Does he have any rituals before every match?

Not really, I try and avoid them, but a sort of ritual is only putting my match shirt on at the end of the warm-up, just before anthems.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is an Olympic ambassador and a former hockey player, were you lucky enough to meet her when she played recently?

I was indeed lucky enough to meet her, she was great on the day and was pretty knowledgeable about the game, asking relevant questions about positions and substitutes to find out how much it has changed since her days of playing hockey.

What other Olympic events are looking forward to?

I'm looking forward to the events like swimming and rowing where Hockey GB have a great chance of success. Also it's going to be exciting to see the show down between Bolt, Powell and Blake in the showpiece event of the games.

What kind of diet do you have before a match?

My favourite pre-game meal is beans on wholemeal toast, but normally it's chicken, a small amount of pasta or potato and salad or veg. I normally top up my carbs with a cereal bar an hour or so before the game and use Maxi-fuel viper boost drink before and during warm up and a gel just before the game and half time.

Now that you've decided to start using moisturiser step one is complete. Your next task is choosing the right moisturiser for your skin type and as more and more men start taking skincare seriously the choice is becoming greater.

The best place to start is by skin type. Do you have oily or dry skin?

To help we've selected six of the best moisturisers for men, three for oily skin types and three for men with dry skin, for you to consider.

DRY SKINMen with a dryer skin type should look for moisturiser designed in a richer formula that can help with blemishes and irritation.
OILY SKINOily skin types should look for moisturisers that help to reduce the appearance of pores and the skin's shine and offer oil free hydration.
