In 2012, adidas partnered with Team Sky and British Cycling to make the best possible cycling range. Resulting in fantastic results as well as gold medals. Now it's time to bring that knowledge, passion and cycling heritage to our customers.
adidas Formotion garments use pre-shaped 3D silhouettes that allow great freedom of movement while you exercise.
Features such as sculpted opening at collar, waistband, hem, arm opening, cuffs and leg openings combined with specific fabrics, construction and ideal seam placement result in optimized fit and comfort.
adidas Clima365's mission is to engineer garments which help to maintain optimum body temperature, 37°C, when exercising... whatever the environmental conditions.
Clima365 achieves this through moisture management, ventilation, thermal insulation and weather protection.
adidas Climalite is a lightweight material which wicks sweat away from the skin. The structure of the material enables the athletes moisture to move to the surface of the garment and evaporate quicker.
Taking the sweat off your skin keeps you more comfortable and closer to your optimum body temperature.
adidas Climacool is a moisture wicking technical material for breathability and moisture management. Garments with climacool have specifically placed ventilation to allow cool air to flow and keep the body cool.
adidas Climawarm is an insulation tool. Climawarm garments trap a layer of air between your skin and the garment. Your body then heats this layer of air up and keeps the body close to your optimum body temperature.
Using climawarm still enables full breathability and comfort.
adidas Climaproof is the outer layer for weather protection. Climaproof garments help protect the athlete from wind and rain by using micropausus structure that doesn't allow for rain penetration, but allows for sweat evaporation.
adidas Ripstop fabrics are woven fabrics often made out of nylon, using a special reinforcing technique that makes them resistant to tearing and ripping. During weaving (thick) reinforcement threads are interwoven at regular intervals in a crosshatch pattern.
Advantages of ripstop are the favourable strength-to-weight ratio and that small tears can not easily spread. Fabrics used to make ripstop include cotton, silk, polyester, and polypropelene, with nylon content limited to the crosshatched threads that make it tear-resistant.
It was developed as an inexpensive synthetic replacement for silk in the production of parachutes during World War II.
adidas cycling use Carvico and Mitispa in our fabrics. Adistar uses Mitispa which is an industry leading ladderproof fabric. Supernova and Response use Carvico - a warp knitted stretch fabric.
