I've bought three of these umbrellas over the last few years, even though they are definitely overpriced, I thought the quality was good, however, on the latest one I bought a couple of months ago, the mechanism in the handle exploded, bits of plastic and spring fell out of the handle and the brolly is now totally useless.
When i bought it, it had the feel of being, loose and a bit shoddy, proven me right now.
Receipt is long gone so I guess that's the end of that.
The last one I had lasted a little longer although the recent high winds made short work of it sadly.
Definitely will NOT be buying again, I'll scour the shops for better value.
Poor quaility for a Royal Warrant product
I spent a lot of time and consideration in selecting this product only to be diasspointed. After just over 12 months of use the closing mechanism has malfunctioned causing one of the "spokes" to break. The net result being when opening the umbrella the canopy no longer opens fully and is unsightly making the item to me at least useless. I need to stress that there was no wind or any factor that could cause the mechanism to fail at the time. Also if this had happened after heavy and prolonged use then I could accept that it is simply part of the natural wear and tear.
