With 'Ma Griffe', Jean Carles combined for the very first time the green, floral note of the gardenia bud in abundance with citronellal and styrax to produce the sensation of almost aggressive freshness that was so totally new at that time. The top notes are a burst of citrus notes, bergamot and lemon bathed in the freshness of gardenia bud. The heart is a profusion of jasmine against notes of sandalwood, rose and ylang ylang. In the base is the masculine note that was also to ground the success of Carven's mens fragrance, vetiver accompanied by musk, tonka bean and styrax. The final word belongs to Madame Carven- 'An outdoor fragrance without the heavy overtones'.

Bought this for my mother for Christmas. She has been wearing it for more years than I can remember. Lovely perfume without being overpowering.
