Pro Longwear Paint Pot
I love Mac and this is the first of their products that I've tried and haven't been overly impressed with. I have normal skin elsewhere but oily eyelids. Most mascaras will transfer from my top and bottom lashes unless I use a primer. I've used plenty cheaper varieties but thought I'd treat myself to soft ochre paint pot. I've tried using it generously and sparingly but I find it creases on my lid unless I use ANOTHER primer under it. If I set it with powder or shadow its fine but I was intending to use it as I have other primers, a quick alternative to a full eye makeup. It might be fine for people who don't get oily lids but if you do, there are other cheaper and more effective alternatives. Worth trying in store before buying. The colour is good, so pigmented and a little goes a long way so it would last for ages. Just not for me!
a brilliant primer
I bought painterlee after seeing it recommended by beauty bloggers. It's an incredible primer which makes your eyeshadow colours much more vibrant and last for 12 or more hours. A huge amount for the price. Excellent value.
If you have oily eyelids and suffer with the dreaded shadow crease throughout the day try these. I use them as a base under eyeshadows or if I'm running late I use them as a wash of colour over the lid. I use Tailor Grey, Painterly, Soft Ocre and Barestudy and they are all excellent colours for a neutral no fuss make up look.
It'll do for now
I have the colour laying low & have been using it as an every day skin toned eyeshadow but i found when i first purchased it that i couldnt put it on my eye lids but itself as it creases! i have to use primer and powder to set it
I ordered groundwork which is a lovely medium brown colour which goes on so easily. It lasted for most of the day but started to fade a little. I would definitely order again.
Not really worth the money
This eyeshadow looks lovely in the pot but i wasn't impressed with how sheer it is when applied, even with primer. i tried applying in layers but it became very cakey on my eyelids. Would not recommend.
Lovely bright peachy toned shade that is really sparkly. Goes on lovely and lasted all day from 7 am til bedtime. Highly recommend
This provides a good base for powder shadows and the colour Soft Ochre is a very good neutral. I would say it isn't as good as Smashbox 15hr wear cream shadow, as it creases towards the end of the day however as SB don't do a good matte, neutral base shade, this is definitely the best alternative.
