black Up is revamping its iconic Fluid Foundation which becomes the Matifying Fluid Foundation. Historical reference of the brand, it keeps all its benefits: a fluid texture that stretches easily, a medium coverage that adapts to skin with blemishes and a very natural finish! Moreover, this new formula ensures an immediate matte effect. Enriched with sebum-regulating and astringent active ingredients it rebalances combination to oily skins, smoothes and provides more comfort to the skin. Long lasting, the make-up remains bright and homogeneous all day long.

I brought this foundation having high hopes, unfortunately whilst it is ok, the coverage is sparse, so you have to use quite a bit to get good coverage. The actual colour was a good match for my skin tone but again the coverage is too little. I ended up mixing it with my another foundation to get a more even coverage. On the plus side, it is matte, but I actually prefer the Black-up full coverage for Oily skin. I also found this foundation quite messy, so would not buy it again.

This is by far the best matte foundation I have used, I have very oily skin but my face stays matte when I use this. Fantastic !!

I found it difficult at first to find my shade which is No. 11 - the last shade for women of medium skin tone. I brought No. 13 and No. 14 which were far too dark for me. I hope that Debenhams continue with this brand of make up but invest in the samples called Matifying Fluid Foundation Sample, that give you 4 very small sachets of foundation to try before you buy - so that you know you have brought your correct shade.
I love all the products from Black up so far and I now say Good bye Fashion Fair and Hello Black up.

I purchased this in no.16, which was the wrong colour for me. It was about 2 shades too dark with a red undertone. I have reordered it in no.13.
What I could tell from applying it is that it blended very well when I applied with both brush and beauty blender. It had an immediate matifying appearance which is great for us oily or combination skinned women. The coverage was medium to full and could be built upon if full coverage is required.
What I like about this range of products, is that there is a vast array of colours,18, from the lightest Asian and mixed race colours to the deepest ebony of my Women of Colour.
The other thing is the mistake a lot of companies make is their foundations have red or pink under tones. Black Up have covered this with yellow/olive, neutral and red/ orange undertones.
The colours are rich and pigmented, no ashiness here. You also get plenty of product in a pump dispensed bottle. Couldn't ask for any more.
My only negative, is the name of the range. But, I suppose being a French company, they don't associate Black Up with negative the connotations we have in the UK. (I'm thinking of the minstrels in the 70s).
This is a great range and I'm looking forward to trying some of their other products. Well done Debenhams for supplying it online for those of us who don't live in the big cities.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this foundation.
Perfect coverage, Light feeling, long lasting, flawless & a little goes a long way & I use a fair amount everyday. (I bought my first bottle in July 2014 and still using it now - Feb 2015)
I never write reviews, but this foundation is great. I have tried A LOT of foundations MAC,Bobbi brown, Armani, Dior, Mary K,YSL,Lancome, plus other brands. YOU NAME IT I'VE PROBABLY TRIED IT. But nothing beats this foundation & Black Up make up in general. I love it!
I would recommend, getting matched up by an make up artist before purchasing. Other than that, it is a great product, that should get more recognition, as I only heard about the product from word of mouth. Not to mention the brand was created by a Congolese man :D.. Shame it is not sold elsewhere other than Debenhams.
I would definitely recommend this product. My friends have tried other black products & they love them. I'm yet to try more products from them - I hear the serum is to die for!

Black up mattifying foundation was used on me by my makeup artist, I liked the flawless finish,,the full coverage so I decided to try it for myself.
She suggested I try colour 12 and 13 to get the sort of effect that suits my skin type and tone
On the first try I found that it didn't last through out the day as it had dried before I could set it with my loose powder. The second time I used it, I then applied some more foundation at the end of my routine and set it immidiatly with loose powder to get my desired effect.
On the whole I have no regrets ...I intend to get the setting spray and the contouring kit and other items
I will recommend blackup cosmestics to,anyone who want flawless look and great coverage.
