This shapewear from Maidenform at Debenhams is a must for all girls out there. I bought it in nude size L .
It smoothens your lumps & bumps down, lifts your butt, gives you a defined waistline, holds your tummy in like magic and you absolutely don't have to take it off to go to the bathroom. Just hold the slit apart so it's against your thighs (not difficult to do in any situation# and then just carry on doing your business!
The middle tummy and butt bit of the garment is my absolute favourite, the boning is absolute magic and you cant feel it one bit, The satin extra tummy control panel is magical as well, although one thing I would say is a flaw is the shape of it. it needs to be wider at the underwear line point #maybe that's just a problem for bigger girls though?).. Otherwise it is absolutely perfect for me and I have a lot of tummy, butt and hips to control as I am a size 18-20 UK.
The downsides to it are mainly the power mesh legs. Which, if you have remotely chubby thighs that rub together at the top, you are going to have problems with as your skin will be too compressed in areas and come through the mesh a bit, causing some sore spots when worn for a while whilst walking around. Also, the cut of the leg for me was too high at the sides... I am 5'10 and my torso is longer than say some one of 5'4 so i needed to pull it up to make sure it got near my bra, obviously when pulling it up, the cut of the panty style shaper bit for your body changes a bit and that's when the different material becomes a bit of an issue. Any future models of this garment should be just made all in one material with slightly lower cut hip seams maybe. On the edge of the power mesh legs, there is some elasticated material, which is fine if you get the garment in your exact size, minimising the actual shaping you get from it...but the minute you buy one dress size smaller to get a bit of extra shaping, it starts pulling in areas and also digging in slightly, which isn't usually flattering on any girl and I haven't had on any shapewear of mine before...if the same material that was used on the non satin part of the torso was used on the legs and sewn with a wide leg band at the bottom with maybe a strip or two of silicone to keep it in place, you would be sailing to the moon. Last but not least, something that happens on all shapewear shorts I have ever owned, the waistband rolls down at the back due to some horrid back fat I have...I am pretty positive it probably wont happen to many people though, I am just an oddball with clothes, underwear and shoe fittings..
All in all I am very happy with my garment and the more I lose weight over time on this diet that I am on, the better this will fit me or at least smoothen and support me. Hope this detailed review helps all girls out there or at least if nothing at all the bigger girls like myself who have difficulty finding a good, supportive shapewear to contour their curves =) Happy shopping! x
