Airfix Quickbuild BAE Hawk 5 5 1 1
Best of the new quick build series I have purchased all of this series except the f22 raptor and this is the best. The build is relatively straight forward as long as you pay close attention to the instructions included, but were this one wins out is the sturdy construction and feel of the finished model. This means that a child can safely play with their model (please note recommended ages on packaging)and then display their new found building skills on the supplied stand later without bits missing or falling off. The kit comes ready coloured with an authentic RAF colour scheme on easy to use and place sticker type transfers and ready to build/display in a short time, ( depending on child's experience of Lego type building) whist giving the satisfaction of building your own aircraft. The other kits in the range are also an excellent introduction from Lego to more realistic appearance of real aircraft. They all look like their real life big brothers but In terms of playability I would place this one first followed by the typhoon and possibly the raptor. The two World War Two aircraft are bigger but have pieces that fall off easily and so look better for display only so I would give them to an older child / teenager. The same would apply to the apache helicopter. To summarize. Great introduction to the world of aircraft kits. 18/01/2014
