About this item

Share This:

Embark on a guided journey through the microscopic world, revealing its hidden creatures and unseen structures with the new TK2 Scope. First, learn how to use the microscope and all of its parts. Next, become familiar with your scope by examining some prepared slides. Now, you are ready to take off on a guided investigation of plant and animal specimens that you gather and prepare yourself. This kit gives you the tools, knowledge, and skills you need to view virtually any specimen you can find. The microscope is a dual light 40-, 100-, and 400-power metal and plastic microscope. The two battery-powered LED light sources allow for both the viewing of large or opaque objects lit from above and the viewing of thinly sliced or translucent specimens lit from below. The lenses are all professional-quality optical glass. The microscope is durable and powerful, permitting years of continued observations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Not a gimmick toy - works well, makes kids happy! Got this for my son after he got the Microscope bug whilst visiting an University open day. Solidly built without being to heavy and comes with a nice starter kit of a prepared slides etc. Only minor issue is platform creep at the highest setting - which means that you have to keep hold of the rotating dial to stop the platform from creeping back down again - making the slide out of focus. But this is only when it is raised to the highest level. Overall, my son loves it - has had it over a week and he still goes back to it occasionally to check some other sample out. 17/04/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Microscope! This is a "real" microscope made of metal and not plastic. The lenses are made of glass and therefore the images are clear and fascinating to the young mind. A win in our family 12/02/2014

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Legislation

From 1st July 2007, all retailers of electrical goods must comply with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) legislation.

This is a scheme to prevent all such waste being disposed of in general landfill sites and to promote recycling of components and materials. The legislation aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic equipment on the environment by creating products with recycling in mind and encouraging reuse, recycling, and recovery of WEEE.

How do I know what product is "WEEE"? The definition of a WEEE product is one whose primary function is dependent on electrical currents to carry out the main function, e.g. a toaster. However, some product, such as a child’s soft toy with an electric circuit, is not classed as WEEE as its primary function is a toy. For further details on product definitions, please click here.

You may also take the item(s) to your local authority Civic Amenity Site if this is more convenient.
