This is my first ever epilator I have ever used. I won't lie it was quite painful at first but not as bad as I have imagined before. Also epilating straight after shower with body scrub really helps to reduce pain and makes the whole process so much easier. Although I've got few ingrown hairs, I will carry on using this. Makes my legs stay smoother for a longer time than shaving. And I only use this once a week now or so. It comes with a shaver/trimmer head, which is nice to use on some body parts when you don't want to remove hair completely. Overall really great product! I've now been using my silk-epil 3 3270 that I got free from Braun for a few weeks.
I have come to realise that is only keeps me hair free for about a week but this may be due to the fact I have very course, dark hair. Due to the fact it takes me so much time to remove my hair leg with the epilator it makes it not really worth it and it is much easier to spend a few minutes using a wet razor when I am in the bath. The fact it has to be plugged into the mains is also an inconvenience to me but may not be an issue to others.
That being said, if using an epilator was my first choice hair removal method then I would recommend the silk-epil 3 3270. The price is great considering you also have the normal razor attachment and I really love the little light on it which makes it much easier to see which spots you have missed. It does hurt but the more you use it the less you notice the pain and I found that if I used it whilst watching TV or doing something else to distract me then I hardly felt it at all.
So in summary, an epilator is not for me but to anyone who likes using them I would definitely recommend the Braun Silk-epil 3 3270 [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

After trying my free epilator for a couple of weeks I am now totally converted I did need to get used to it but no I really notice regrowth is minimal & my previously very coarse dark hair is much finer and just needs a couple of quick "go overs" a week to keep my legs smooth and summer ready.
I would have previously shaved at least every other day to keep my legs hair free but the attached pic is 4 days of growth after epilating! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I was so chuffed to recieve an invite to try out the Braun silk-epil 3 3270 as i had been wanting to try an epilator for a while but not heen brave enough to take the plunge! When it arrived i was gutted to find i needed a 2 pin shaver plug which i do not have in the house. This should be something that is stated nice and obviously on the box as if i'd bought this in a shop i would have no idea until getting it home that i'd need to buy a plug adaptor!
I bought an adaptor and after reading the instructions a few times and making sure i was ready i went for it. The build up had been intense - i was so nervous about how much it would hurt! The result - yes, it hurt. Not so much that i needed to scream or anything i could deal with it. But it seemed it was all pain no gain. I kept re-reading the instructions and watched a couple of online videos to make sure i was doing it right. The pain told me it was definitely pulling hairs from my leg. But i wasn't left with a smooth silky leg. I still wouldn't want to be out in shorts or a skirt without using my trusty razor first!
I tried the shaver head and had much better results. This attachment would be good as a quick fix before going out on a summer evening.
Overall the product disappointed me. I had high expectations and trust the Braun name but saw this product as a waste as i would want to use a razor too anyway! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Recieved my free Braun Silk-epil 3 3270 as part of the trail. I was excited to use it and once i opened the box I immediately realised I couldn't use it straight away as only came with a 2 prong plug. Once i remembered to buy the adapter i tried it straight away. I may he a whimp but the epilator head really hurt and i reverted to the shaver head as couldnt stand the pain. Once using the shaver head it was fine and didnt hurt. Will definitely be using it in the future but as a shaver and not as an epilator! Definitely less hassel than using a razor or waxing. I was quite apprehensive at first about using the Braun Silk-epil 3 3270 as I shave my legs every day so to use this meant I had to grow them.
The 2 pin plug meant I had to do this in the bathroom but that wasn't a problem.
I will admit - it really hurt!!
However! My legs stayed smooth for about 4 days.
It was quite time consuming but definitely worth it!!
I'm not sure about whether I'll use it on any other body part as I did find it quite painful. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Soo I was lucky enough to receive my free my trial of the new Braun Silk-epil 3, in my quest for smooth summer skin I was excited to trial this out, smooth skin for WEEKS sounds pretty amazing given my usual shaving I method needs to be carried out every 1-3 days through out summer, this devise could potentially last a whole holiday abroad, pretty impressive!
The box itself, actually looks a bit sexy and mysterious! It looks attractive and I am imaging a good quality product to be inside. The outside of the box doesn't hold too much information, literally 3 phrases in a million different languages, I actually don't think I have ever seen so many translations on a box packaging before!
After finally getting into the box I discover that you need a 2-pin shaving adapter plug for this devise, I think this could be a deal breaker for a lot of people, and quite annoying as there is no mention of this on the box (I think this should be mentioned at the side along with the head information), I have moved house 7 times and my current flat is the first one with an adapter like this, so luckily this time I'm good! The devise itself is quite small and petite and feels quite nice to hold on your hand, I also quite like that this is in pink, a magpie for any link devise!! The plastic does feel a teeny bit cheap in my opinion, I was expecting something a bit more premium feeling.
I plugged the epilator in expecting this to be a chargeable devise, having played around a little bit (as again nothing mentioned in the manual) realised it has to remain plugged in whilst using. Whilst the cord is very long, this is a huge inconvenience, my bathroom is just so tiny I have to pirch on my loo seat and squeeze my leg up on the bath, not the comfortable scenario I had hoped for!
So, after reading the manual, instructions seem really clear (minus charging situation) I feel ready to go! I waited around a week after shaving to make sure my leg hair was at 'optimum length', turned the devise on and was surprised at how bright the little light was, the epilator sound is pretty loud and then the nerves kicked it! I double checked the instructions once more (mental note-taking start from the bottom up, massaging rollers, make sure skin is straight & leg stretched..) and then the modern day torturing devise touched my leg!!
Now, I thought I had a pretty good pain threshold, but this was something else! I managed to do the tops and sides of my leg bit the back of the knee and ankle areas just hurt me so much, and I couldn't even face trying the top of my leg/thigh area. The areas I could manage I did most if not all of the hairs out, though due to the pain level I'm left with a patchy result! I also didn't really feel anything from the massaging rollers! I do have sensitive skin so I am unsure if this is why it hurt so bad, though I have had tattoos on my legs and go for a Brazilian hot wax once a month, this is by far more painful, maybe it's psychological because you have to build up the courage to do it yourself.. I have to say I much prefer the latter.. Closing my eyes and letting someone else quickly do it for me, this way was slow and painful!
It took over 24hours for my legs to stop being red, unfortunately I just do not think this technique is for me! Perhaps as with waxing, it gets better with time.. But with the option to painlessly remove hair in a couple of minutes with a razer in a shower, I'm finding it hard to find the will and reasoning to commit to the epilator. I think this devise is like marmite, you'll either love it or hate it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Rated 2 out of 5Â by donnahazel82 nice design..
When I received the email looking for participants to trial an epilator for free from Braun I was over the moon when I was chosen as with the ever vicious cycle of hair re-growth I was looking for an alternative hair removal option that had lasting effects and this gave me the perfect opportunity to try epilation. When the parcel arrived I was very impressed with the overall packaging design, the colours, the size and feel of the box and the window display of the product itself. Still in winter mode my legs hadn't seen a shave for a few weeks so I put a plan of action in place that I would do a full trial (i.e. opening the box, reading instructions and giving it a go!) and review this product on a Saturday night (when I hoped a glass of wine would ease any initial pain!)so my legs were silky smooth before I went shopping for summer clothes the next day. When the time came to trial it I took it out of the box for the first time only to realise that it had a 2 pin plug attached!! Living in a fairly old house, we do not have a special shaver plug in the bathroom and neither did we have a 2 pin to 3 pin adapter which was such a shame. With this in mind I think I would have liked to have seen a symbol or bigger advise on the packaging to say that this came equipped with a 2 pin plug as I imagine a lot of people would be annoyed if they purchased this product and did not find out until they got home. With time being of the essence I ended up having to shave with a standard razor and then purchase an adaptor and wait until some hair regrowth came back. It's 2 nights before the end of the project I've just tried to use this epilator again and purchased an adaptor in the hope it would fit but it doesnt so I can't comment at present on the usage of the product. What I can say is that the overall design of the product is great, it fits in my hand well very comfortable to hold and the attachments slot in easily. It looks very easy to use just a shame I can't use it!! Next time i think one of the pre qualification questions should be 'do you have a 2pin razor/shaver socket' or there should be a plug attachment with a 3 pin plug. I think my parents have a special socket so i'll attempt to use it there and will let you know! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
