Ok, yes. it's just a kettle. But you wouldn't be looking at one so expensive, if style wasn't an issue for you.
I've had this kettle now for 5 months and I love it.
First of all, it looks great. Retro but contemporary. I have it in the almond cream.
It has a dual wall, which means it keeps cool on the outside even when boiled. And it really does, stay cool. Great safety feature.
The outside temperature gauge is handy - you can decide if you need to hit the boil switch again, or whether the water is still hot enough for what you need.
The big factor for me buying this kettle, was the adjustable temperature gauge. I personally drink Earl Grey tea, which should be made with hot water at 90 degrees, rather than boiling point. And yes.... my tea has never tasted so good. Also, coffee should not be made with boiling water as it burns the beans, so another useful feature of the adjustable temperature.
I like the "ping" when you switch it on, it also "pings" when the water reaches your desired temperature.
I've had no problems with this kettle so far, it still looks brand new. There is no limescale around the spout. It really does seem a quality kettle and I highly recommend it.

A truly stylish kettle which functions just as it says with the quality of Kitchen Aid Artisan products. It seems to be quiet when boiling and the visible temperature gauge is really useful.
The only downside I have found is that if you have used the full contents of the boiled kettle and want to immediately refill it, the automatic lid doesn't always fasten back down right away probably because of the expansion until it cools down slightly. This may only take a minute or so, but nonetheless I feel it should be mentioned. Consequently, I rated it 4 overall.
