Tefal black Avanti 2 slice toaster TT875718
After nearly ten years our Avanti toaster died. We looked at other alternatives but decided to have the same again. Three reasons: Firstly it looks good in the kitchen. Secondly it takes up minimal width on a kitchen worktop due to its design. Thirdly, because we toast bread from frozen to keep it fresh, it has a very good defrost button.
It toasts pretty evenly unlike some other makes. The only thing that is different is that the case was metal before and is now plastic so be careful not to scratch it.
Very quick free delivery. Ordered in the afternoon and picked it up the next afternoon from our local Debenhams so we did not have to go without toast for long!
Bought this toaster two days ago. First time used was ok but disappointed that the bread was not toasted all over, I had an edge that did not toast at all and it was only a small slice of bread. I was willing to put up with this as it fit in nicely in my kitchen but this morning I put my bread in and one of the levers broke and now just hangs down so it's going back and I will not be getting the same as a replacement.
Not Fit for purpose
We bought a Tefal black Avanti 2 slice toaster TT875718 from Debenhams in Leeds just before going on holiday on 30th May, based upon its excellent appearance and the Tefal brand reputation. Having now used it, I am appalled and disappointed at its poor performance and consider it unfit for purpose. It does not toast bread evenly, burns some parts and leaves some parts un-browned, plus struggles to accept a full slice of normal bread.
I've therefore written to Tefal asking what they are prepared to do regarding recourse for this very unsatisfactory product/purchase.
Looks good but makes rubbish toast!
I have burnt so many slices its not true. It doesn't take a full slice of bread so you have to top and tail your toast and then the element goes overboard -hence burnt toast if you dont hover like a hawk!
It does one side more than the other and doesn't do one slice only as the blurb says. We've had it about 6 months and I've cracked and am off to buy another type today!
Like the style
Does what it's meant for
What more can you say about a toaster
I chose the Avanti because Tefal is a French reliable brand-normally. Maybe I was just unlucky but the toaster was faulty. I could not use it. When pressing down to toast the bread, the slider wouldn't stay down and kept coming back up. I returned the product and bought a classic Morphy Richards toaster instead.
Nice and practical. Fits my kitchen perfectly.
Tefal front toaster
I wanted a front loading toaster and this one is great. It has large slots so can toast crumpets, scones etc. It also has a button you can press to pop the toast up if you can see it is done enough, which is another good point you can see it toasting. It can also go up against the wall which saves space. Would recommned.
