Rated 1 out of 5Â by Stephen Do not buy - glass goblet keeps breaking in normal use
Very disappointed with this Kenwood unit and customer service. I have had 2 glass goblets break in everyday use when using ice, despite there being an ice setting on the unit. The glass is just too temperature sensitive and Kenwood deny there is an inherent problem despite the huge number of reviews online. They wont replace the second faulty glass goblet which is poor given this is meant to be a premium product - and with a premium price of course. There are much better products you can buy that will last longer.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by IAC999 Glass jug is not heat-proof
The jug is not heat proof so it is not suitable for making soup, unless you are willing to spend lots of extra time cooling your mix to room temperature. I didn't realise this and my jug shattered. I checked the instructions again and saw that the blender can only be used with room-temperature and cold mixes. I certainly wouldnt have bought the product if this restriction had been clearly highlighted. What on earth is the point of a blender that can't conveniently be used for all temperatures?
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Legislation
From 1st July 2007, all retailers of electrical goods must comply with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) legislation.
This is a scheme to prevent all such waste being disposed of in general landfill sites and to promote recycling of components and materials. The legislation aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic equipment on the environment by creating products with recycling in mind and encouraging reuse, recycling, and recovery of WEEE.
How do I know what product is "WEEE"? The definition of a WEEE product is one whose primary function is dependent on electrical currents to carry out the main function, e.g. a toaster. However, some product, such as a child’s soft toy with an electric circuit, is not classed as WEEE as its primary function is a toy. For further details on product definitions, please click here.
