Rowenta 'IS6200 Compact Valet' garment steamer
Easy to us
Bought this coz my mam has arthritis and struggles to iron, really easy to use and removed all creases!!! Was surprised how quick it was to iron clothes
Suggest you buy a good quality IRON
Thought being Rowenta it would be a good product but was dissapopinted. It didn't generate enough steam to remove all the creases, it took longer than ironing. Would not reccomend
I have no complaints about this steamer. I had never used one before but it was really easy to setup and use. No drips which I've read happens in many other brands. Good steaming power and easy to move around. I took it to my shop on the first day and managed to steam over 50 t-shirts in a very short period of time. Great overall product. I got it in the Debenhams sale so I'm very happy with it. Hopefully it will last!
Great Domestic Steamer
I am very happy and impressed with this steamer, within a minute of turning it on, it was steaming away and just gently brushing it over the fabric saw the creases disappear almost instantly! Its a good height for me to use comfortably (at 5'6) but is also height adjustable, was really easy and quick to assemble out of the box, filling the enormous tank is simple and the machine is lightweight, good looking and powerful.
I have a Rowenta 2400 watt iron which is powerful but this steamer tops that performance even at 1500 watts. I used it to steam-shrink some new fabric and steamed 7 metres of it in next to no time with half of the tank of water still left! With the iron it would have taken three times as long and several refills of the tank.
The hanger is sturdy and locks into place on the stand so the garment doesn't rock as you try to steam it. The head is a little tricky to lock onto the hanger at first and will fall off if not done properly.
My criticisms are minor irritations really: the steam tube is rather stiff and difficult to maneuver as you move the head around, I had to be careful it didn't twist back on itself and close off the pipe! The extension cord is also ridiculously short, you would need an extension lead to steam the curtains in situ although it is at least easy to wheel it about, would be even better with a long cable. There is no on board storage for the additional heads which would be very handy and a steam control function would be nice.
For the price (I waited for it come on sale at 20% off), I am more than happy with my purchase, I am glad I have it and will be using it a lot.
I hate ironing, but now can clear all the clothing from my ironing basket easily. Steaming with my Rowenta is my solution.
