I found this machine actually quite heavy when the water tank was not even full (2 litres), it also does not turn very easily.
The pre-clean spray button needed some effort to depress in use and after only a short while caused my thumb to ache and the bracket for the pre-clean pipe storage is quite flimsy.
The pre-clean nozzle cannot be cleared of any blockage should this arise as it is a sealed unit.
The machine is top heavy when the clean water tank is full so be careful of this.
Vax could have made the clean water tank in a way that you can stand it up when filling it as the base is not flat and does not have any stands so prepare your measured fluid and have the tap on ready.
However all is not lost as it does a really impressive job of cleaning and is simple to clean afterwards.

Before I bought this, I thought I would have to replace the living room carpet. We have a Dyson for regular housework cleaning, but the carpet had developed ingrained marks in the heavy traffic areas and looked really unpleasant. I'm not sure how much of this is down to the dogs - two Yorkies - but I guess they didn't help.
The carpet is a light creamy brown colour - but I had honestly forgotten quite how light! After only one treatment, it is no exaggeration to say it looks as good as new. The machine is simple to set up and use, and not too heavy. It also left the carpet almost completely dry - totally dry overnight.
I am very impressed, and would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone.
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Legislation
From 1st July 2007, all retailers of electrical goods must comply with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) legislation.
This is a scheme to prevent all such waste being disposed of in general landfill sites and to promote recycling of components and materials. The legislation aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic equipment on the environment by creating products with recycling in mind and encouraging reuse, recycling, and recovery of WEEE.
How do I know what product is "WEEE"? The definition of a WEEE product is one whose primary function is dependent on electrical currents to carry out the main function, e.g. a toaster. However, some product, such as a child’s soft toy with an electric circuit, is not classed as WEEE as its primary function is a toy. For further details on product definitions, please click here.
