Superlite III 2-Wheel Cabin Suitcase Grape
perfect size, looks good
I bought this last year along with the medium sized suitcase. I was a bit dubious at first as it appears larger than than the hand luggage measuring cages at the airport and consequently I paid in advance to put my luggage in the hold. On arrival at the airport I thought I'd try the case in the measuring cages - surprisingly for me it actually fits neatly inside the measuring cage and now I don't need to spend extra money to put it in the hold (Value 4/5). The bottoms have ripped a little which is not ideal after only 12 months use (Quality 5/5). However it still looks good and I love the grape colour (Style 4/5).
Strong, light, attractive, budget-airline friendly suitcase with one major design flaw
The grape colour case looks good, it is light, it looks small, but can carry just as much as my slightly larger case that is too big to fit into Ryanair's cabin luggage box. This one will certainly fit in easily. The material looks strong. However, all this is spolit to a certain extent by an unbelievable design flaw related to the rear zip pocket. The top half of the zip goes the whole way from left to right, but the lower half only covers about 90% of the distance. This means that there is a 5cm wide gap in the pocket which of course will let in water when it rains. It looks as though they may have designed it this way for this area to be used to attach pens to the material. Otehrwise, I can't imagine why a reputable company such as Tripp has let this product to market this way (unless my case is the only one that is like this). The pocket itself is large enough to carry documentation and an ipad or tablet (assuming they are in a waterproof cover). It is too small to take my 10" netbook in its carry case, although I think it might fit in without the case, but I'm not going to take it without the case. What if water enters it?
Anyway, since this will not be my main case and that I will probably only use it on budget airlines, I think it will still serve its purpose for me.
I bought this colour because I could get it with an extra £6 discount at my local Debenhams store.
Lightweight and attractive. Good quality.
I had an initial problem with the handle as it would not retract back down fully. After poking around and jiggling the mechanism, it worked again. For a moment I thought it was faulty, but now it works just fine.
Aside from that first confusion, this suitcase is perfect: it is very light, fits all the standard budget airline size restrictions, and certainly can pack a lot inside. It's a shame it doesn't have an expandable cover, but that isn't a huge loss.
I haven't tested it in rainy conditions so I don't know if it is water-resistant (I HOPE SO!!). The wheels weren't too noisy on pavements and feels sturdy enough.
I would take care with the retractable handle just because it doesn't always feel 100% solid. I suppose if you're sensible and don't knock it about too much, it should work without problems.
ALSO, quite happy that I got it for £6 less in my local Debenham's store!
I really love this little cabin case. It's such a great colour and just amazing what you can fit in for the size. I've used mine twice now on Easy Jet and Ryan Air and am really very happy with it. Delivery was very prompt and lots of contact to let me know when it would arrive.
Great value cases and ideal airplane cabin size
Great value in the sale and lovely colour cases. Only using will tell and as we cruise I am looking forward to see if these stand up to being handled by the baggage crew.
Fast delivery service.
