It has a dropped, adjustable hem at the back and articulated arms that stop it from riding up when you’re reaching for that next hold or bending over to fit your snowshoes. The insulated zip baffle, chin guard and under-helmet hood keeps you well-defended against the cold. With two zipped hand warmer pockets, internal dump pockets and an external chest pocket for your phone, keys, and other valuables. And it packs oh so tiny: cinches down into a 1 litre dry bag. Long lasting, lower impact The outer made is from light yet durable nylon fabric and treated with a durable water repellent thats free from PFC's to keep your down protected from moisture without using nasty chemicals. The 630 fill power down provides an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio.
You can and should wash this garment, most active outdoor folk do this once or twice a year. Washing and re-waterproofing flushes out the dirt and oils that have accumulated so that it puffs up nicely and works better in damp conditions. Don’t panic! Down is surprisingly durable and washing is not an onerous task.
