Description

The Deadbeats is a satire built around the modern need for fifteen minutes of fame and the desire for likes and follows. It plays with the shallowness of the celebrity lifestyle and the vanity social media peddles to the masses. When a failed celebrity game show competitor begins abducting the rich and famous, the world becomes gripped by their plight. Forcing his captives to compete to the death against each other in ever more depraved bouts of cruelty, the kidnapper not only films and streams their ordeal live, but encourages the public to vote on who competes to the death next. Absent without leave Marine Captain Mitch Calvert is captured by the military whilst performing as a singer during an eightys night, he is given a choice. Either return to military prison or help form, and lead an elite special forces unit this was to be no ordinary unit their cover would be that of a touring rock band. During X Factor style auditions Mitch forms the band from the cream of US military and they begin their training. They must gel not only as a fighting unit but also a believable rock band.
