The Rail bookcase stands 167cm tall on a footprint of 79 by 24cm, so it holds a full collection of books against a narrow stretch of wall rather than spreading along it. Eight open compartments are arranged asymmetrically instead of on a regular grid, which gives tall and short spaces in the same unit: art books and files fit the deeper openings while paperbacks and objects suit the smaller ones. There is no back panel, so the wall colour shows through and the unit stays visually light despite its height, and it can stand against a painted wall or wallpaper without hiding it. At 24cm deep it suits a hallway or the side of a room where a standard bookcase would project too far. It stands freely or fixes to the wall.

Do not use abrasive creams, scouring pads, bleach or solvent based cleaners, as these will mark the melamine surface.
