At the start of the game the tiles are tilted upwards and are then closed (or shut) as you roll the dice and combine the numbers rolled to eliminate (or shut) the required numbers. The combined number of both dice must be used exactly - but it is the player's choice as to which combination is flipped over. Therefore, the game is not purely down to luck, as some strategic thought is often beneficial.
