In fact, thanks to its 75mm howitzer installed in the casematta, it turned out to be an effective anti-tank weapon capable of annihilating even the most powerful and heavily armored British and American tanks, however, during the war it was requested by the Royal Army to develop a version with increased offensive capacity. On the hull of the M42 self-propelled tank was then installed the 75/34 cannon designed for countertank shooting. The first specimens were distributed to the Italian departments in the spring of 1943. Thanks to its good operational performance, it was also used after the armistice in September 1943 by German departments of the Wehrmacht.
