"When I Was King" A little babys quest for identity leads him to believe that he is a king. In his own words, the little boy narrates milestones in his life, from birth to adulthood. Life was good for the "boyking," until he had to grow up. One cannot help but laugh at the little boys antics, as he struggles to maintain his identity among five older siblings. As a king, the little boy has to grapple with problems of sibling rivalry, economic injustice and racism. "When I Was King" is based on true incidents that occurred in the life of this books author, as he grew up in the North Florida panhandle.
