The galvanizing coating on the Sprinkle fittings is over 10 microns and has a 96 hour Passed the spray test with neutralised salt. The electroplating layer of most taps is fairly thin, about 5 microns or thinner. These taps cannot pass salt spray test and the coating may disintegrate in 2 to 3 months.
