The McAlpine ASC10 is a 75mm water seal adjustable inlet tubular swivel 'P' trap with a multifit outlet. This trap is similar to the ASA10, with the main difference being the lack of an anti-siphon (Silentrap) feature. Like other 'P' traps, the McAlpine ASC10 is designed to prevent sewer gases from entering a building through the drainage system. The water seal in the trap prevents odors from passing back up into the building by creating a barrier of water between the inside of the trap and the outside air. The adjustable inlet allows for easy installation and alignment of the trap with the waste pipe, while the swivel 'P' shape of the trap allows for flexibility in the connection to the waste pipe, making it easier to install in tight spaces. The multifit outlet of the trap allows for connection to a variety of waste pipes with different diameters and materials, making it a versatile option for many plumbing applications. However, because it lacks an anti-siphon feature, the McAlpine ASC10 may not be suitable for all applications, especially those where there is a risk of the trap being siphoned dry.
