In a handwritten notation in his Bible, dated March 10, 1955, at 340 a.m., Dr. T.V. "Corky" Farris wrote "Over this Bible I surrender my all and claim the anointing of Gods Spirit." With these words written as a seminary student, Dr. Farris embarked on a life of service and ministry that had actually begun as a college student at Baylor University. Over the next 38 years, his ministry included pastorates in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas the mission field of Japan serving with the Evangelism Division of the Baptist General Convention of Texas and finally MidAmerica Baptist Theological Seminary, where he served as Chairman of the Department of Hebrew and Old Testament. The sermons in this volume, compiled and edited by his son, are but a select few of the hundreds he preached over the years.
