The spring-loaded system makes it easier to rotate your board, and by moving the most targeted areas (such as the 20 segment) to another position, and putting a less targeted segment in its place, you will then be throwing at a fresher 20 segment. with the top arm of the clamp spring loaded to help grip the dartboard firmly in place.
