Storage: Keep firewood in a dry, well-ventilated area, off the ground, to prevent moisture buildup and mold. Covering: Use a breathable cover to protect wood from rain or snow while allowing airflow. Avoid sealing it completely. Airflow: Stack wood loosely to allow proper air circulation-this helps the wood stay dry and burn efficiently. Pests: Store firewood away from the house or shed to minimize the risk of insects or rodents nesting inside. Rotation: Use older, seasoned wood first. Freshly cut wood should be seasoned for at least 6-12 months before burning.
