Regularly inspect your flue pipe for creosote buildup, cracks, and blockages. Clean the flue at least once a year, or more often if needed, using a chimney brush and ensuring the stove is cold before cleaning. Always burn dry, seasoned wood to minimize creosote buildup and ensure optimal performance. If you notice smoke indoors, poor stove performance, or unusual odors, inspect the system immediately. For safety, install a carbon monoxide detector and have the flue professionally checked annually.
