WHY? TCCA tablets are the most popular method of sanitizing spa water. Your spa needs to be sanitized at all times. Never use your spa without first testing your spa water. The ideal chlorine level is between 3 parts per million (ppm) and 5 ppm. WHEN? Test the chlorine levels in your spa daily and immediately before use. Check your floating dispenser at least every 3 days and replenish before tablets have fully dissolved. Typically, these tablets will erode and dissolve over 10 to 14 days, depending on water temperature and flow. HOW? Always use in a floating dispenser or in-line feeder. Never place tablets directly into the pool, as severe bleaching or staining may occur. Wearing gloves, fill your floating dispenser with the required chlorine tablets. Open the flow regulator on your dispenser to maximum and allow the chlorine level to rise between 3 and 5 ppm. Test your spa water daily and adjust the dispenser regulator based on test readings. Remove the floating dispenser when the spa is in use and place it safely in a bucket. HOW MUCH? The quantity of chlorine tablets required to maintain safe and healthy water depends on several factors.
