The Sigma 65mm F2 DG Contemporary is a versatile, compact and lightweight, full-frame, Prime I-series lens designed for L-Mount mirrorless cameras. It features ultra-fast and accurate AF performance along with outstanding ultra-sharp optics. It's capable of producing rich, smooth bokeh for attractive backgrounds, so it's perfect for portraits. The quiet stepping motor provides quick, reliable autofocusing for both stills and video. Beautiful bokeh The lens displays a particularly attractive bokeh effect thanks to the control of spherical aberration and its nine rounded diaphragm blades, with near circular out-of-focus highlights across the frame and at the widest aperture of F2. Optical performance Axial chromatic aberration is corrected thoroughly with the use of SLD glass, allowing it to capture sharp details. A pair of glass-molded aspherical lenses is used to correct spherical and comatic aberration, as well as astigmatism, while also helping make the lens configuration smaller in size. In addition to the beautiful bokeh effect thanks to the control of spherical aberration, the reduced effect of vignetting help curb lemon-shaped or swirly bokeh and give photographers greater control over the out-of-focus areas of their images. And Sigma-standard anti-ghosting and anti-flare technology ensures high-end performance in backlit conditions. I-series build quality All I series lenses are designed with an all-metal barrel. The precision-cut aluminium parts not only give the lens a sleek, stylish finish but provide superb durability, which improves the quality of the entire product. Metal materials are also used in internal structures that slide with the operation ring for added robustness. These high-precision components, crafted with Sigma’s cutting-edge metalworking technology, are also used in the production of the cine lens line-up for professional film-makers. Magnetic metal lens cap The I-series lenses are accompanied by a dedicated magnetic metal lens cap, in addition to a normal plastic cap.
