Designer's words: "The most important garment is the one in contact with the skin. In winter many cyclists (myself included) like to wear thick, light jackets. The problem with these jackets (and winter jackets) is the poor thermal management especially when wet. I've been training as a pro cyclist most of my life wondering why (despite being sponsored by premium clothing brands) I'd end up wet, freezing and uncomfortable after 1 or 2 hours of riding in winter. It seems that no one is designing a baselayer for winter rides. I designed the BASEZ with my own fabrics where the air pockets are trapped by the design of the baselayer. During a cycling trip all parts of the body have a different temperature, humidity and comfort. On the Basez, the chest and front arms are thicker and warmer to protect against the wind.
