To be safe foods such as meat and poultry must be cooked to a safe minimum internal temperature to destroy any harmful organisms that may be in the food. The thermometer is preset with 8 different types of food, Beef, Chicken, Lamb, Veal, Ham, Pork, Turkey and Fish and 5 types of taste option, Done, Well, Medium, Medium Rare and Rare. The thermometer can also be used in beer, jam and bread making. Extremely easy to use, simply insert the probe into food as it cooks and wait for the temperature reading to settle. Temperature can be displayed in deg C or deg F. The thermometer can be set with a certain temperature and when your food reaches that temperature it will beep. The thermometer has 2 magnets on the back so that it can be stored permanently on the front of a fridge for example, it also has a retractable stand and timer mode.
