Product description

Item No. 1219325039

Urban Decay's Kaleidoscope Dream Eyeshadow Palette from the limited-edition UD X Kristen Leanne collection epitomises the beauty influencer's passion for makeup and whimsical vibe. This is what makeup dreams are made of. The UD X Kristen Leanne collection from Urban Decay epitomises everything UD loves about KL, from her passion for makeup to her whimsical vibe. Kristen embodies the UD spirit inside and out - from her colourful hair and killer tattoos to her super-authentic, down-to-earth personality. A UD junkie and a big advocate of self-expression, she also has a distinct point of view. The limited-edition Kaleidoscope Dream Eyeshadow Palette features 11 vibrant shades, including a uniquely shifty yellow, vivid brights, and an out-of-this-world split-pan duotone. Each shade is named after something close to Kristen's heart, like LCW (a nod to KL's fave song, ''Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress'', by the Hollies), and 13th Floor (one of her favourite Twilight Zone episodes).

'X Kristen' bright eye shadow palette is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from ... The Kaleidoscope Dream palette is in collaboration with beauty influencer Kristen Leanne and was released as part of the spring 2018 collection. It contains eleven shades in three different finishes: Spitfire (fuchsia metallic), Stay Gold (yellow gold metallic), Tajin (sunset orange matte), LCW [Long Cool Woman - title of a song] (cobalt blue metallic), TRM [The Ryan Morgan - her husband] (royal blue metallic), Dye (deep purple metallic), Corona (bronze metallic), Leo (pale blue with pink shift), Brixton (white with greeny blue shift), Lime Time (lime green metallic) and 13th Floor (black matte). The two duo-chromes are meant to be transformative toppers to use over the other shades, but they build up enough to be worn alone. They also make nice eye and cheek highlighters. I'm really into this more condensed type of eyeshadow palette now, where almost every shade is something fun and unique, that doesn't waste pans (and therefore our money) by including the same kind of basic highlight/crease/transition shades - I'm sure that we already have plenty of neutral shades that we love, that we can use with this palette to make it go further [although I've happily done multiple looks using this palette only]. Ever since buying my first shadows as a 14 year old when the brand first launched in the UK, all the way up to now as a 34 year old, I can say that I have yet to find a a eyeshadow formula that can outperform the ones that Urban Decay make; buttery smooth to apply and to blend. All of the shadows are non-fading and I haven't experienced any creasing - I apply them in the morning [no primer] and they'll still look good in the evening, when I remove it. The metallic shades have a bit more fallout in comparison to the other shadows which have very little, which isn't a big deal for me but I still thought I'd mention it. Fallout in shadows doesn't really bother me as I do my eyes before my base - all pigmented & softer shadows have fallout, so I do think that all good-quality shadows should kick-up a bit. Unfortunately there is a downside to this palette: the palette layout is kind of random & distracting so there is a lot of empty space in the palette bulking it up, and the shadow pans are two different shapes - on it's own that's not a deal breaker for me (I can appreciate that they tried something different), it's the fact that the pans are in five sizes AND the two shades that I use the most (Leo & Brixton) are spilt in one pan. All five of my favourite and most used shades are in the smaller pans, so I've been working through them quickly, whilst I've used every other shade a fair few times too, but they still have barely been dented. It'd be a waste to replace this palette, despite me liking it; some shades don't last for very long, while others do and would just go to waste if I'd have bought a new palette to get more of my favourites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow There seems to have been some controversy with the layout of this palette but I love it! The colours are fabulous, very pigmented but easy to work with and can be used for a light wash or built up for maximum impact. I’ve used them all at some point since getting it, even the blues which I use as liner (although I have had to dip into a different palette for a transition shade). The matte black is a nice addition, applies great as a liner, and the two transformer shades (Leo and Brixton) are lovely, I’ve been using them as inner corner highlight. Very happy I got this palette and, even though the pans are on the small side, I can’t see myself needing to replace in the near future which would be a problem as it’s a Ltd Edition.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this but hate the layout I hate that my favourite colour has the least amount of shadow. Love the formula and colour selection though
