It’s no secret that I love interior design. One of my favourite things is to browse the shops and see the latest trends. I’m not one for constantly making over a space; it’s important and looks far more authentic if a room evolves and contains key pieces you love. It's all about sustainability; it’s easy to update the look of a room with a few well-chosen new elements and layering favourite well-loved items up over time will create a characterful curated look.
BARBIECORE
This is a trend that needs very little explaining, the pink goddess Barbie is everywhere at the moment, and the world of interiors has not escaped. Pink is such a fun and easy colour to work with; from blush pink, a neutral which will complement almost any colour, to hot pink, which will elevate even the most neutral of schemes.
Cushions are an easy starting point when updating any room. They can be relatively inexpensive, and it’s a fun way to change the vibe of a space. This fuchsia knit cushion has the added bonus of super cute pom poms. It’s great for layering and adding this to your bed, sofa or chair will add a fun element to your scheme. Styling a space is all about adding different textures and layers of interest. I’ve also found this lovely soft blush throw, again with my favourite pom poms! You can drape it or fold it as a decorative item or snuggle under it to keep warm.

COLOUR POP
I am often asked where to start with a colourful decorating scheme. An easy way is to choose one or two key items in a bright colour and ease yourself gently over to the colourful side. If you like it, you can always add more.
Here I’ve chosen a bright sofa as a hero piece - it would work with any of the cushions I’ve already shared, and the current lemon trend. This sofa bed jumped out at me - I love the bright colour, the simple shape, and the fact that it is a multi-functional piece of furniture, what’s not to like? A few choice accessories around the room such as this amber vase will give a coherent finish to the colourful look. These colour pops would work equally well in a pale neutral or a dark and moody room.
