Bebo Valdes celebrates the breadth of Afro-Cuban music in Suite Cubana, a richly arranged big-band work recorded in 2002. Piano-led passages, tightly voiced horns and rhythmic improvisation bring his compositions to life, from 'Cachao, Creador Del Mambo' to 'Nocturno De Batanga'.
