Roe Co Ltd (Avro), dating from 1931 until the Avro name was dropped and output fully absorbed into the Hawker Siddeley Group in 1963. (A special supplement includes Avro Canada aircraft and engine ads from 19501959, featuring notable entries for the illfated Avro Arrow.)Covering 30 years of Avros prolific production, this volume showcases the companys extensive and stylish advertisements. It features all Avro production aircraft from the Avian to the 748, as well as interesting ads for the Delta research aircraft, which evolved into the Avro 698 and eventually the mighty Vulcan. Fans of the Shackleton will appreciate the many detailed ads for this enduring workhorse.The Lancaster, Anson, York, Lincoln, and Ashton are well represented, while ads for the Manchester and the Tudor series of airliners provide additional interest.
