10 x 20-30cm Yew (Taxus Baccata) Evergreen Bare Root Hedging Plants
“Refund was approved and back in my account the same day.” - Deliver+ customer
Yew Hedging makes a classic evergreen hedge with tight dense foliage. It is excellent for topiary and creating structural elements for your garden. It is the classic plant for this type of planting. You can trim Yew into a dense short hedge for border surrounds or left to grow as tall as 30m high. Yew grows well in most soil types but doesn't like very damp soils. It produces tiny pink berries in Winter. Whist Yew is thought of as a slow growing plant it will put on 20 - 30cm of growth per year. Yew is evergreen - and will replace its spindles throughout the year. We recommend 5 plants per metre in a double zig-zag row for a thick hedge, but you can get away with 3-4 per metre in a staggered row if you don't mind waiting an extra year or two to form a thick hedge. Keep them well watered - especially in the Spring and Summer in the first year of planting. If you are not sure how many plants you need or which varieties suit your garden please just contact or call us and we will be happy to offer friendly advice. For best results plant with Rootgrow gel - it increases the growth rate by up to 50% and really helps the plants establish. Many apologies but due to a change in the DEFRA plant health regulations following Brexit we cannot ship plants to Northern Ireland - we are working on this and hope a solution is found soon.
Evergreen dense hedge. For any Soil Type - easy to grow. Full sun to perfect shade. Hardy and Low Maintenance. Wildlife friendly. Slow Growing.
