According to Women's Wear Daily: "Australian actress Cate Blanchett has been confirmed as the new face of Giorgio Parfums, a division of L’Oréal Luxe. Blanchett, who is rehearsing for a play with Isabelle Huppert at the Sydney Theatre Company, will be the face of an advertising campaign for a new eau de parfum called 'Sí' that will hit shelves at the end of the summer. The confirmation comes after weeks of unsubstantiated buzz following press reports about a fragrance collaboration between the actress and Giorgio , who have a long-standing professional relationship. Blanchett has often worn creations on the red carpet and openly expressed admiration of him." Si was launched in 2013. Si was created by Christine Nagel and Julie Masse. Giorgio is an Italian fashion designer particularly noted for his menswear. started his career as designer of shop-windows in a department store and worked his way up to menswear buyer. From 1960 to 1972 he worked as a designer for the well-known house of Nino Cerutti and then worked as an independent designer for a number of fashion houses before founding his own brand. He presented his first collection of men's clothing in 1975, followed by a line for women that same year. gained a wider audience for his work with the popular vie "American Gigolo," in which Richard Gere's character wore chic designs. This was to be the first of many future film collaborations.
