Holidays in the sun during the 1980s is a memoir for me , taking me and the reader back to simpler times , basically a time of childhood were you didnt have a care in the world . The long school summer holidays, the hot days at the beach. Plenty of fun in the sun and great times to be had. A sometimes fictional account, although a lot of truth mixed in, many memories of good times, trying to piece it all together to give the reader a mental visual experience and try to see it through my eyes. I have always loved the sea, theres something magical, spiritual, a wonderful force of nature that can be relaxing and can be absolutely devastating. From the different colours of water around our shores of Great Britain, the lovely colours in the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean in all its splendour. The sea is great. Lost memories of a young child being brought back to life in this book of fantastic times , becoming of a teenager and all the joys that brings and then turning into a young adult and that first holiday abroad without the parents , less said here I think . Getting married and honeymooning abroad, taking the kids abroad for the first time, special anniversary holidays abroad without the kids, happy memories. I hope the reader will experience the same pleasure as me, those wonderful times, oh and of course how can you not forget about the ice creams and the good old favourite, fish and chips. Buckets and spades , those little flags on the wooden sticks , the rubbish...
