Karl Barth is the foremost theologian of the twentieth century, some would say since Thomas Aquinas. Our understanding of Jesus our Christology is crucial to Christian faith. He studied at the universities of Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, Basle and Tiibingen. For many years a parish minister, he commenced lecturing in the University of Dublin in the early sixties and thence moved to a post in the Presbyterian College, Belfast in 1970. He has since become its Professor of Systematic Theology.
