Roman Chamomile essential oil is distilled from the flowers of Anthemis nobilis, producing a light-blue oil when fresh. Known for its calming and soothing qualities, it is widely used to ease irritation, impatience, emotional tension, PMS, menstrual and menopausal discomfort. With a soft, sweet apple-like aroma, Roman Chamomile is valued in skincare for acne, eczema, dermatitis, wounds, rashes, dry or itchy skin and allergies. It is believed to support relief from abdominal pain, gall bladder issues, diarrhea, colic and may help with hay fever, asthma and throat infections. Gentle enough for children when diluted correctly, it can help soothe irritability, restlessness and teething discomfort. When diffused, it may calm headaches, nervous tension, stress and migraines while promoting deep relaxation. Its history dates back to ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, where it was used for medicinal purposes, recorded in papyrus as early as 2800 BC for skin conditions and even in embalming. Considered sacred, it is said to be one of the Nine Holy Herbs gifted by Wodan to aid mankind.
