The McAlpine ASC10V is a 75mm water seal adjustable inlet tubular swivel anti-syphon (Silentrap) 'P' trap with a universal outlet. Like the ASA10, this type of trap is also commonly used in plumbing applications to prevent sewer gases from entering a building through the drainage system. However, the ASC10V has an added anti-syphon feature that prevents the trap from becoming siphoned dry, which can result in loss of the water seal and the entry of sewer gases into the building.
