Perfect for lovers of vintage-style florals with a bold, confident character. Donald and Gun Bauchner founded The Perfumer's Workshop in 1971 with the aim of opening a personalized perfume boutique. When the fragrance Tea Rose was presented in 1977 it became an instant success and today st of their products are distributed throughout the world. The brand's products are still manufactured in the US. The company made a name for themselves when they managed to acquire a concession within Bloomingdale's stores. They sold perfume oils which were a hippie signature then, but reworked the idea behind them to be re in line with Bloomingdale's upmarket concept. The idea of custom-made fragrances was born and Perfumer's Workshop counters opened at Selfridge's (1973) and Harrods (1974) in London. The first counter to open in Paris was the one in Galéries Lafayettes in 1975. For the first time the customer was given the power to make their own decisions about the products they would like to be offered. Ingredients, perfume notes and accords, bottles and packaging were for the customer to choose.
