Safety is crucial, the lid has hand gaps so little hands can safely lift the lid without fear of trapping fingers. More importantly, to avoid the lid slamming shut on their little hands there is a safety hinge inside. As an added feature, we have included hand holes on either side of the toy box, so it is easy to move from room to room.
