CATMINT - Catmint is a live vigorous outdoor growing herbaceous perennial, botanically known as Nepeta. This hardy flowering herb plant in a 13cm pot has aromatic felty grey leaves and produces flower spikes of lavender blue bell shaped flowers. POLLINATOR FRIENDLY - Catmint is renowned for attracting cats, hence its name but the flowers also attract pollinating insects including bees, butterflies and moths. This plant has also received the RHS Plants for Pollinators seal of approval. RICH IN VITAMIN C - When used fresh or dried, Catmint is high in Vitamin C. The leaves make a refreshing and therapeutic tea which has traditionally been used to treat nervousness, insomnia, hyperactivity, colds and fevers. The flowers can also be dried to be used in pot pourri. EASY TO GROW - Nepeta is easy to grow in well draining soil and is drought tolerant. It does best in full sunlight but can cope with partial shade. Catmint can grow to a height up to 45cm and is ideal for growing in beds and borders in coastal gardens, cottage style gardens and wildlife gardens. It is also perfect for using as an edging plant along pathways. CARBETH PLANTS - We are a Scottish based company with over 20 years experience in horticulture. With a large variety of plants for the garden, indoors and also gift wrapped for special occasions. We pride ourselves on prompt delivery as well as our quality and affordable products.
Catmint is a low-maintenance, drought-tolerant plant that thrives in sunny or partially shaded areas with well-drained soil. Water sparingly once established, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Prune back the plant after its first bloom to encourage a second flush of flowers and maintain a neat, compact shape. Catmint is hardy and attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies, making it a great addition to any garden. While it’s safe for cats, not all will be drawn to it, as it’s a milder alternative to catnip. With minimal care, catmint will flourish and add beauty to your garden.
