UMBRELLA POND PLANT - The Darmera peltata, is a marginal pond plant, known as the Umbrella plant due to its large, bold umbrella-shaped leaves that create a dramatic focal point around ponds and damp borders. During Summer the leaves create a canopy of rich green, which turns to shades of red in Autumn. SHADED AREA FRIENDLY - Also commonly known as the Indian Rhubarb, this perennial plant is perfect for adding height, texture, and a lush, tropical feel to shaded or semi-shaded garden areas. It complements woodland gardens, wild water features, and damp borders pairing well with ferns and hostas. IDEAL FOR MARGINS AND DAMP SOIL - Supplied in a 9cm pot. The Umbrella plant thrives in consistently moist, humus-rich soil, making it ideal for pond margins, bog gardens, and streamside planting. Performs best in partial shade but will tolerate full sun if kept well watered. LOW MAINTENANCE AND HARDY - Robust and easy to care for, Darmera peltata is hardy across most of the UK and returns reliably each year. It spreads slowly over time, forming attractive clumps without becoming invasive. CARBETH PLANTS - We are a Scottish based company with over 20 years experience in horticulture. With a large variety of plants for the garden, indoors and also gift wrapped for special occasions. We pride ourselves on prompt delivery as well as our quality and affordable plants.
