Following the line of the ancient earthwork built by King Offa of Mercia in the 8th century, the route runs from sea to sea, linking the Severn Estuary with Liverpool Bay. For around 112km (70 miles), the path traces the original ditch and rampart, while castles, forts and historic sites dot the journey.
