F-14 Tomcat VF-31 – NAS Oceana (1:72 Scale) Northrop Grumman The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a legendary U.S. Navy carrier-based fighter, famed for its twin engines, variable-sweep wings, and air superiority capabilities. Serving from the 1970s through the early 2000s, it became a Cold War icon. VF-31 “Tomcatters” was among the final squadrons to operate the F-14 from NAS Oceana, flying its last missions before the aircraft’s retirement in 2006.
