The Dornier Do 335 was a German World War II fighter aircraft manufactured by Dornier which first took to the skies in 1943. Unusual for German aircraft construction, it had one engine in the front and one in the rear. Making the Do 335 the fastest piston engine powered aircraft at the time of its first flight, which is where the Dornier ultimately got its nickname of the Arrow.
